The portal is a SharePoint solution designed to organize the process of gathering availability information from contracted seafarers.
It includes an automated registration process for crew members with email based validation.
After registering, seafarers have the ability to declare their desired time frame for the next voyage.
Their time-frame options abide to business rules set by the Marine Personnel Department.
Seafarer data and availability declaration can be integrated with any ERP or HR system required.
Gathered data can also be used in conjunction with BPC’s Crew Scheduling System.
When a seafarer is assigned to a voyage the information becomes available to the portal and can be viewed upon login.
The portal also includes a Shared Documents are so that the Marine Personnel Department (or any other) can share documents and information with the seafarers without the need for office visits.
The seafarer has also the option of getting notifications for new assignments, for pending availability declarations or other elements of the portal. Notification can be either vie email or SMS.
